2022 College Scholarship Contest

Atlantic Financial Federal Credit Union, in partnership with the Credit Union Foundation of Maryland and DC, has opened the 2022 College Scholarship contest. AFFCU members entering their freshman through senior year of college or trade school are eligible to apply for one of twelve $1,000 scholarships.

Eligible AFFCU members may apply for one of ten $1,000 essay-based scholarships, one $1,000 video-based scholarship, and/or one $1,000 photo-based scholarship. And yes, eligible members may apply in all three categories!

Plus, AFFCU will also select the two top scoring AFFCU member entries to award our own $1,000 scholarships.

The 2022 Credit Union College Scholarship Program is underway now.

How To Enter

Submit your entry online through CU Foundation of MD & DC scholarship portal. Deadline for applications is Midnight, March 31, 2022.

This year’s essay topic:

“In life, things can happen fast. Describe a sudden change in your life, real or imagined, that presented a financial challenge and describe how your credit union helped you get through it.” (750 word max)

This year’s video topic:

“You’re suddenly confronted with an unexpected financial challenge. Create a 60-second video depicting the challenge and how your credit union helped you successfully handle it.”

This year’s photo theme:

Capture an original photograph that represents the credit union core value of “Respect”

Deadline for applications is Midnight, March 31, 2022. Awards will be announced in May 2022.
