AFFCU November COVID19 Update

Branch lobby photo covid19 closing update

Dear AFFCU Community,

Across the country, we are seeing communities being faced with a new surge of Covid-19 cases. This includes our communities, as we’ve seen a steady increase in positive cases here in Maryland, and particularly our Baltimore metro area community. The state and county governments continue to announce new restrictions to slow the spread of the virus as we enter the winter season.

I am proud of our team who has continued to serve our members throughout the entirety of the pandemic. Whether it has been by phone, via the drive-thru, or in-person when we were able to safely re-open our branch lobby. Our team has been nimble and reliable as we work to serve your banking needs.

With employee and member safety priority number one, we were able to implement our plan to re-open our branch lobby to in-person service. We have successfully had our lobby open for a few months now.

But as we stated, our number one priority throughout this all is the safety and well-being of our employees and members. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution and to help protect you, our amazing team, and to do our part to help slow the spread during this this period of surging cases, we have decided to close our branch lobby to in-person traffic.

Branch Lobby Access Changes

Effective Monday, November 30, 2020 our Hunt Valley branch lobby will transition to appointment only access for necessary services. Our Drive-thru service will continue to open during our normal drive-thru hours of operation to serve your needs. Our member support center remains accessible by calling us at 410-584-7474, and our always open online and mobile banking tools are at your fingertips. Our lending team is also able to support your financing needs remotely, through our online application system and remote loan closing tools.

While our lobby closing may feel like a small step backwards, our team believes it is the best option at this time and are confident in our ability to continue to serve your financial needs through “distanced banking” as we have already displayed throughout this pandemic.

We will continue to follow all restrictions and mandates that are imposed, regularly monitor the situation, and keep you informed of any further changes, with the hope of returning to normal lobby access as soon as we can, when it is safe to do so.

We thank you for your continued support and trust throughout this crazy year. We will continue to persevere through this together.

Thank you,
Matthew Piazza, CPA
