New Checking Account Questions

Members can open a checking account online. It’s quick and easy to do. If you aren’t a member yet, that’s ok too. You can apply for membership in minutes and then open your account.

Yes. But becoming a credit union member is quick and easy. You can apply for membership in minutes. You don’t even have to come into one of our branch locations to do it.

General Checking Account Questions

Yes. All of our accounts allow you to manage your account, pay bills, and deposit checks either online or through our mobile banking app.

Once you open the account, it should take 7-10 business days to receive your card in the mail. Or you may elect to come in-branch to get an instant issue debit card printed same day.

Yes. We understand mistakes happen. So all checking account holders can opt into one of several overdraft protection options.

No. We have no minimum balance requirements on any of our checking accounts.

You can order checks in any branch location or by calling 410-584-7474. Or you can order them online.

You can find your monthly account summary on your account statement. Or you can see a more up-to-date balance through your secure online and mobile banking account or the Automated Phone Activated Transaction (PAT) system.

Enrolling in e-statements is easy. Simply log into your AFFCU online banking account. Then click on the e-statement tab in the top navigation. Follow the prompts to enroll and accept the terms and conditions. Once completed, you will be enrolled in e-statements.

Checking Account Option Questions

Yes. Our Power Checking, PowerPlus Checking, and Journey Checking all offer rewards. And all of our accounts have no monthly maintenance fees, balance requirements, or penalties.

Earning your rewards is simple. You need a qualifying monthly direct deposit to post and settle each month. And you need to login to AFFCU online or with mobile banking at least once per month.

For qualifying deposits, Power Checking accounts must have at least $1,000 in total direct deposit. PowerPlus Checking must have at least $3,500 in total direct deposit. For both, you must also login to your digital banking account at lest once per month. That’s it. Pretty easy.
